"No Logon Servers Available to service the logon request"

Post by Davi » Fri, 30 Aug 2002 00:46:13

I can't add any new computers to my network.  I'm running
windows 2000 server and windows 2000 pro computers.  There
are 49 machines currently working.  The new machines login
fine but all 3 receive the error "No Logon Servers
Available to service the logon request" when trying to
access network resources.  They use dhcp, can surf the
internet and browse the network but can't access any of
the computers or printers.  The only article I found about
this error was about WINS which is not in use.  TCP/IP
only.  Please help! TIA

1. "There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request"

Dear Gurus,

Since I added my computer to AD, I cannot map any home
network drives or printers. I get the following error
message instead of the prompt window asking different
credentials.

"There are currently no logon servers available to service
the logon request."

This happen when I use my cached AD account to logon.
If I use a win2k local account, I am then prompted for the
alternate login (username/password).

The only workaround I found is to map the drives through
a "net use" command, this seems to by pass the windows
settings.

Does someone knows which registry key is link to this
problem? Is there a way to solve that very annoying
problem.

Thanks for any help.

Best regards
