Drivers for NVidia TNT2 Ultra

Drivers for NVidia TNT2 Ultra

The hardware compatibility site says that the drivers for this card are
included on the Windows 2000 CD-ROM, yet they are not installed when
setting up Win2k. When I use Device Manager to update the driver, and
show all devices, an Nvidia TNT2 Ultra is not an option for video
controllers. What gives? I would use the NVidia reference drivers, but
they blue screen too much.

Had the same problem Adv Server myself, use the Microsoft driver that comes
with Win2k Professional if you have it.

1. Video Driver Problems (nVidia TNT2 Ultra)

I've just upgraded from Win98 to Win2000 (Asus K7M motherboard), but I'm
having problems with the driver for the nVidia TNT2 Ultra graphics card. I'm
using the latest Win2000 driver from the nVidia web site, but more often
than not (about 5 out of 6 times) when I reboot the display is in VGA mode
with only 640x480 and 800x600 available. However, about one time out of six
all is well!

The default MS driver for the card doesn't have this problem - but it also
doesn't seem to support the hardware acceleration features which means that
if I use it I can't run games such as MS Train Simulator.

Any help would be welcome.

Thanks
Chris Jobson
