1. Can't delete Parent Folder after deleting subdirectory
I haven't really seen this problem before... I setup a new computer for a
client. Its running windows 2000 and has sp3 and all updates installed on
it as of 3/20/03. Its also running office 2000 with all updates and corel
office 2000 along with some basic utils such as acrobat reader and winzip.
Hardware is an athlon 1900 +, 256mb ddr ram, nforce motherboard, Asus 48
cdrw, Western digital 80gb SE drive, and an old maxtor drive.
Basically I have Windows 2000 installed on the Western Digital drive and its
formated with NTFS. After setting everything up I took the user's old hard
drive, a maxtor from an old dell, and put it as a slave to the Western
Digital on the new computer. This drive is a FAT partition and its in there
so the user could pull files from his old drive to the new one.
Here's my problem. When the user deletes a subdirectory inside any folder
and then tries to delete the folder itself it gives him an error that the
folder is in use and access is denied. I'm pretty sure that this isn't
specific to either drive because it happens on both C: and D:. The user
also has administrator permissions on the computer. It seems to me like
windows still thinks that the deleted subdirectory exists and becuase of
this it errors out when trying to delete the parent directory due to its
inability to access the deleted subdirectory. Any suggestions? Thanks!
