Hello *),
I'm trying to get the activator java-plugin for linux to
work, but this has so far led to no success. The control
panel runs fine, so I assume there are no installation errors.
However when I try to access a jar file using the embed tag
for navigator like this:
<EMBED type="application/x-java-applet" width="850"
height="600"
align="baseline"
archive="TurboToeff.jar"
code="ToeffApplet.class"
user="$user"
pluginspage="http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/1.1/plugin-install.html">
<NOEMBED>
No JDK 1.1 support for APPLET!!
</NOEMBED>
</EMBED>
which is basically straight from sun's documentation I get this error
in the java console window:
Java(TM) Plug-in: Version 1.1 EA3e Apr-09-1998
Using JRE version Linux_JDK_1.1.5_v6
User home directory = /home/hoover
Proxy Configuration: no proxy
Opening http://ente/toefftest/TurboToeff.jar no proxy

at sun.applet.AppletPanel.runLoader(AppletPanel.java:397)
at sun.applet.AppletPanel.run(AppletPanel.java:237)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java)
the jar file is there, and everything works great if I do not use the
plug-in.
Can anyone shed some light on this, please? I've tried setting Applet
network access to unrestricted, but with no success.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Uwe
