Easy Hardware question

Easy Hardware question

Post by Brendan E. Conbo » Wed, 11 Apr 2001 05:48:03

I was wondering if anyone knows how to control the volume on an EV6
XP1000 Compaq workstation.
For example if the machine gets wall'd or a user in the command line
backspaces past the number of
characters they typed it lets out a very loud beep. I just want to turn
it down to a human level.

    Thanks.

You mean the control-G beep? xset should be able to control that
pretty well. I use: xset b 5 400 30

1. an easy hardware question

Does anyone know where I could find Linux plates to replace those on an
IBM ThinkPad?  You know, those little metal things that say "IBM ThinkPad"
on them?  A 1"x1" plate/sticker should suffice.  Then the whole world can
know in advance not to ask "you're running Windows, right?"

Any ideas?  Thanks!
