I'm trying to install Tru64 5.1B on a Digital Personal Workstation
600a. The operating system was recently bought from HP/Compaq under
the Enthusiast License. After installing the files, rebooting the
machine, logging in as root under CDE, I'm asked for license keys.
The first licence key is OSF-BASE. I have a piece of paper that says
IMPORTANT: The following license keys for the Licence Management
Facility (LMF) are to be used subject to the terms of ...
Issurer : DEC
Aurorization number NON-COMMERICAL-TRU64-UNIX-1
Product name: OSF-BASE
Number of units: 0
Activity Table Code: CONSTANT=100
Whenever I enter this checksum foobar, along with the other
information, I'm told the checksum is wrong. I'm then presented with a
much larger page, which wants more licence information, some of which
I don't have. One implies its to tied to the hardware, but says its on
the licence sheet, so I'm not quite sure what that means. I've tried
the AV-RKK3A-TE as this 'hardware' thing, and just about any other
remotely sensible combination of possibilities I can think of, but I
basically can't get beyond this.
Any ideas? Am I missing another piece of paper? As I say, it was
bought new, not off of eBay, so I'm surprised it don't work.
