Checksum errors with Tru64 Entusiast License

I'm trying to install Tru64 5.1B on a Digital Personal Workstation
600a. The operating system was recently bought from HP/Compaq under
the Enthusiast License. After installing the files, rebooting the
machine, logging in as root under CDE, I'm asked for license keys.

The first licence key is OSF-BASE. I have a piece of paper that says

Compaq:

AV-RKK3A-TE

IMPORTANT: The following license keys for the Licence Management
Facility (LMF) are to be used subject to the terms of ...

Issurer : DEC
Aurorization number NON-COMMERICAL-TRU64-UNIX-1
Product name: OSF-BASE
Producer: DEC
Number of units: 0
Activity Table Code: CONSTANT=100
Cheksum: foobar

Whenever I enter this checksum foobar, along with the other
information, I'm told the checksum is wrong. I'm then presented with a
much larger page, which wants more licence information, some of which
I don't have. One implies its to tied to the hardware, but says its on
the licence sheet, so I'm not quite sure what that means. I've tried
the AV-RKK3A-TE as this 'hardware' thing,  and just about any other
remotely sensible combination of possibilities I can think of, but I
basically can't get beyond this.

Any ideas? Am I missing another piece of paper? As I say, it was
bought new, not off of eBay, so I'm surprised it don't work.

Sounds familiar!

Just skip this step, then use lmf to remove your OSF-BASE license and
enter it again. That worked for me on 5.1.

Thanks. Compaq/HP's support line did suggest I used lmf, but not remove
the old OSF-BASE. Thanks, I'll do that, although everything seems to be
working, but perhaps not as well as it would if that step was done.

1. SOS - Sun Workshop license installation gives data checksum error

Hi.

I had requested for a Visual Workshop 5.0 license from the Sun license
center.

As per procedure they sent me the license email, and I used lit (license
installation tool) to register the software. But it kept giving me a "data
checksum" error. I verified the host name and host ID supplied, then asked
for another license for a different host - same problem.

Finally I asked for a demo license, which worked.

But I am getting no help from the licensing center and no formal technical
support that is able to solve my problem.

The demo license expires in a month, and so will I, if I don't solve this
mystery !
