SBC embedded linux firewall

Post by dgoogl » Sun, 31 Mar 2002 18:55:35

Hi all,
I have been playing around with LEAF/Bering distribution for
firewalling my network and would like to put it on a SBC or equivalent.
Can anyone recommend an embedded platform with at 2-3 ethernet ports
that may suit, preferably x86 based. Only needs to have one serial port
for console, flash or DOC, no HD/USB/parallel port needed.

Any references or URLs to related project people may be doing would be
appreciated.

cheers,
dgoogle

Hi,

You might be interested by this page which provides a list of "little
linux systems": http://www.linuxdevices.com/articles/AT2016997232.html

In your case, maibe SecureEdge SE2580
(http://www.secureedge.net/se2580.html) would do the trick. It has 2
ethernet ports, two serial (RS232) ports, 4-16MB flash and a x86
compatible processor (AMD SC520). You can order it with the
"embedded-Linux" firmware which contains the uCLinux distribution. I
don't know if you can put the LEAF/Bering distro on it, thought.

Hope this helps,
GFK's

1. Preiswerter Selbstbau-Linux-embedded-SBC

Hallo *

fr meine Zwecke (Just-for-Fun / Steuerungsaufgaben / MP3 etc.)

flashen (ber JTAG, V24, Ethernet o.?.).

Danke fr Eure Tips! :D
