MPEG2/4 Decoder that supports ARM Linux

MPEG2/4 Decoder that supports ARM Linux

Post by Shawn Ch » Tue, 22 Apr 2003 13:09:08

Hi,

We are looking for a MPEG2 or MPEG4 Decoder PCI card with ARM Linux
support for our project. Currently, in the market, most MPEG decoders
support only X86. Does anybody have any clues where i can find it?

Regards,

In a word, no. Your best bet will be to look at chips from Cirrus,
Broadcom, and others. Or if you need 4:2:2 capabilities, and 50Mb/S,
then IBM and LSI Logic. The crop of available PCI cards is fairly
narrow, and almost all support x86 -- the rest support the Mac.

1. DVD or mpeg2 decoder suport in Linux?

Is there any projects to support one of the major mpeg2 decoders so that
a linux box could
be used to view DVD movies?

I could not find any information on this anywhere, any help would be
appreciated.
