Mosaic/ www browsers for Netbsd 1.0

Post by Charlie Ro » Tue, 28 Mar 1995 10:43:34

Im interested in finding a WWW browser for NetBSD 1.0,

What ones are available?   I know in the case of Mosaic I would need
MOTIF in order to compile it, so are there bins floating around for it?

Thanx

I found that netscape has bins for BSDI, and they seem to run fine, with
a bit of environment tweaking..  however I would appreciate a faster
web viewer, as this one seems to go pretty slow, (both over the link, and
on my machine)

It gives me an error message

ld.so: Undefined symbol "__sys_errlist" in arena-i386-netbsd-1.0:arena-i386-netbsd-1.0

I got this fixed with creative use of vim -b, to change all occurrences

I had to make sure I didn't change the length.

Of course you can use any editor that can edit binary files.

Arena looks great, btw.

Hmm; I believe I screwed up and compiled this under -current rather
than 1.0 -- I do indeed see this problem on a 1.0 system...

I'll whip up a new version tonight...

Yup; too bad it doesn't have forms support, yet...

That makes sense. I've been running it under current and wondering
what everyone else is griping about. :-)

I must apologize for being so lame (I was at ietf).

Anyway, Arena that works under NetBSD 1.0 (and not just current)
may be found in:

        ftp://sipb.mit.edu/pub/jhawk/arena-0.96s/arena-i386-netbsd-1.0.gz

and will be available from the standard arena distribute site soon...
