I'm having trouble getting a disk partitioned on an old sun 3/260. I
tried booting it from the network with a netbsd 1.4.2 image but the
kernel dies with the "no /dev/console" error. I saw it discussed before
but no one provided an answer. Anyhow It boots 1.4 find and I run
edlabel /dev/rsd0a. No matter how I partition the disk it always says
"bad partition index" so after a while I tried dd'ing the miniroot to
the swap partition and rebooting. It complained of no disk label. How
can I make a new disk label and fix the partitions? edlabel isn't to
intuitave. The disk has 640584 sectors and is 311 meg. All I want is a
big 279 meg partition for / and 32 meg for swap. Edlabel always shows *
next to every partition, does that mean the numbers are invalid? Any
help appreciated.
