archives?

Post by Adam Bozanic » Mon, 16 Jun 2003 03:46:46

Hi all.  This may seem like a really lame question, but I've gotta ask.

Is there anyplace that I can get the archives of this mailing list?  I've
googled around for a couple of hours now, but I can't find anything.

I need to get a message that I posted last month concerning a sparc
station classic that wouldn't mount in r/w mode.

Any pointers would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you
-Adam

This is not a mailing list; it is Usenet.

I have installed openbsd on a sun Sparc Station Classic.

The only problem is... I CAN'T FREAK'N MOUNT THE ROOT DIRECTORY READ/WRITE

here's what I get when I boot into the system:

# /sbin/mount -u -w /
mount_ffs: /dev/sd0a on /: specified device does not match mounted device

to start, here's a bit of dmesg:

I guess I'm a bit dislexic ;)

Anyway, thank you Mr. Uhring and Dr.X, that was the exact thread I needed.
I guess I've gotta work on my google skills.

1. *.so archives and *.a archives

Hi,

What are *.so files?  It used to be *.a files.

I found an rpm file for Lapack.  There, the archived file is not
liblapack.a, but liblapack.so.  What is the postfix "so"?  Can I just
use this file as if it is *.a file?

Thanks.
