Hello,
I'm trying to compile emacs for NetBSD 1.5. I tried emacs version 20.7, and
20.4, both compilation failed. What version of emacs should I use?

Hi,
GNU Emacs as shipped by the FSF still thinks your NetBSD is a.out and
tries to compile the wrong unexec stuff.
Please use the NetBSD packages collection which either includes the
necessary patches for the compilation to work out-of-the-box or
provides binary packages:
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/packages/pkgsrc/README.html
Use pkg_add on the binary archive file (or its URL) if you choose not
to install from the sources.
Hope this helps,
Aymeric

1. emacs 20.4 crashes with Fatal Error 11 after compilation
Hi all!
I'm trying to compile emacs 20.4 for RedHat 5.2 for Alpha processors.
Unfortunately when running emacs all I get is the message "Fatal Error
(11)."
configure recognizes the machine type correctly as
alphaev56-unknown-linux-gnu, the other configuration options found by
configure are:
-----
What operating system and machine description files should Emacs use?
`s/gnu-linux.h' and `m/alpha.h'
What compiler should emacs be built with? gcc -g -O
Should Emacs use the GNU version of malloc? yes
(Using Doug Lea's new malloc from the GNU C Library.)
Should Emacs use the relocating allocator for buffers? yes
What window system should Emacs use? x11
What toolkit should Emacs use? LUCID
Where do we find X Windows header files?
/usr/X11R6/include
Where do we find X Windows libraries? /usr/X11R6/lib
-----
Does anybody know how to resolve this? Are there any compiler
incompatibilities with egcs 1.0.3a?
Thanks
Alex
