-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
This is to announce transproxy-0.2 which is a transparent HTTP proxy
server for Linux that uses the TRANSPARENT_PROXY kernel feature.
When running a HTTP proxy it's normally required to configure the browser
to use the proxy directly. With this server, and some ipfwadm commands,
it's possible to transparently intercept HTTP requests, and pass them to
the proxy. This means that users do not have to configure their browser
for a proxy, it is all taken care of automatically.
The code is in it's early stages, but it's working now in an ISP
environment so I consider it entirely functional.
The program is available via FTP from:
ftp://ftp.nlc.net.au/pub/linux/www/transproxy-0.2.tgz
Once the program is in a more suitable state it will be placed on sunsite.
Some work needs to be done on parsing HTTP headers better.
Cheers.
