We are proud to present to you the first preview of new Open Source product
from zapwerk AG, Hamburg, Germany - Web application development toolkit
[quiper].

[quiper] is a toolkit for creating very fast dynamic Web applications,
replacing and extending functionality of traditional tools like PHP.
The whole design is modular, so one can easily reuse already written
modules (e.g., one can easily add a forum to his application by simply
referencing forum module or make user and rights administration by simply
referencing these administration modules).

[quiper] is service provider enabled, so one application can be reused by many
service provider's clients. Moreover, users are centrally managed, so a user
working with more applications needs just one central login. It will be also
possible to use external user database.

All [quiper] modules are customizable on reuse via templates - one can
completely change module appearance in reused module.

[quiper] is also multilingual, so applications will display text strings in
user's language of preference. There will be also tools for helping translators
to translate only necessary parts when main template changes.

[quiper] contains internal, very fast database engine which in addition to
classical relational model supports also various advanced mechanisms for
representing more complex data structures efficiently. The database supports
transactions and subtransactions at ISO Serializable level, is protected
against failures using WAL, makes use of MVCC technology, etc.

or directly download [quiper] from:

[quiper] is actually a dynamically-loadable module for Apache Web server.
Almost whole project is licensed under BSD license, only database core
is licensed with litte more restrictive license.

[quiper] is still under heavy development, but we felt that it's mature enough
to be tried out in public. The focus of this pre-release is mainly presenting
the technology and collecting user feedback.
