New util* packages uploaded (uncorrupted versions)

[This is the second posting about these utilities today.  The tar files for
util-etc were corrupt and have been corrected in version 2.1.  Please
_delete_ any copies of util-etc-2.0* that you may have.  The files for
util-bin-2.0 and util-usrbin-2.0 were fine -- if you already downloaded
them, you do _not_ need to download them again.]

The following packages are available from:

ftp.cs.unc.edu:/pub/faith/linux/utils
sunsite.unc.edu:/pub/Linux/Incoming [to be moved]
tsx-11.mit.edu [in the near future]

The binaries have been compiled with gcc 2.4.5 and linked against the DLL
4.4.1 libraries.  They install by untaring in /.

util-etc-2.1.src.tar.gz
util-etc-2.1.bin.tar.gz

This is a distribution of all those (Linux-specific) programs that
     "belong" in /etc:

agetty clock ctrlaltdel dmesg doshell fastboot fasthalt fdformat fdisk
frag fsck fsck.minix halt ipcrm ipcs kbdrate makehole mkfs mkswap
mount ramsize rdev reboot rootflags setfdprm setserial shutdown
simpleinit swapdev swapon sync syslogd update vidmode

Man pages are included for all of the programs.

This release is the logical successor of utile-1.5, and contains many
new versions.  The following are the highlights:

Stephen Tweedie's latest mount, umount, swapon, and rdev.

David Engel's generic front-end for fsck and mkfs (fsutil), with
supporting changes to fsck.minix and mkfs.minix.

Theodore Ts'o's latest setserial and dmesg.

Krishna Balasubramanian's System V IPC support programs: ipcs and
     ipcrm (with new man pages).

Version 2.1 corrects an uploading error in version 2.0.

util-bin-2.0.src.tar.gz
util-bin-2.0.bin.tar.gz

This is a distribution of all those (Linux-specific) programs that
     "belong" in /bin:

domainname ed hostname kill ldd login more newgrp passwd setterm wall
     write

Man pages are included for all of the programs.

This release is the logical successor of utilb-1.3, and contains many
new versions.  Of note: domainname, newgrp, and passwd are new.

util-usrbin-2.0.src.tar.gz
util-usrbin-2.0.bin.tar.gz

This is a distribution of all those (Linux-specific) programs that
     "belong" in /usr/bin:

banner cal chsh clear col colcrt colrm column hexdump last logger
look mesg od script strings ul uuencode uudecode whereis

Man pages are included for all of the programs.

This release is the logical successor of utila-1.5, and contains many
new versions.  Of note: passwd was moved to util-bin

1. Uncorrupt version of Fvwm-0.96 uploaded to sunsite.

Sorry about the first try, folks, but the version of fvwm-0.96 which
was uploaded to sunsite on Sunday was corrupt. I have corrected the
problem now. The problem was either:
1. The result of a nearby lightning strike, and ensuing component
   failure.
2. A stupid mistake on my part.

In either case, I failed to double-check the upload. Sorry.

For anyone who missed the original announcement for fvwm-0.96:
Fvwm release 0.96 (source and binaries) has been uploaded to sunsite,
as file /pub/Linux/Incoming/fvwm-0.96-source.tar.z and
/pub/Linux/X11/Incoming/fvwm-0.96-binaries.tar.z. They will probably be
moved to /pub/Linux/X11/window-managers.

Fvwm is a light-weight window manager which provides a simple virtual
desktop, a 3-D look for windows decorations, and color icons.

Memory consumption for Fvwm is about 1/2 to 1/3 that of twm.
Fvwm is targeted at machines with too little memory, and at laptops
on which mouse usage may be awkward. All window manager functions
can be performed (conveniently) without a mouse.

In this release we have many new features:

1. Color Icons can now be shaped color icons, like ctwm or a Macintosh
2. A Maximize function has been added for mwm fans.
3. The pager has been upgraded. It is more easily interpreted, with
pager-window colors matching their full-size counterparts. You can
now move windows in the pager, and set the input focous in click-to-focus
   mode.
4. A user-selectable number of title-bar buttons are available (up to 10).
5. You can now have partially undecorated windows, omitting either the
title-bar or the border, or both.

Bug Fixes:
1. Can now bind keyboard keys to actions in icon windows.
2. Fixed the parsing of EXEC and RESTART functions for key bindings
   in the root window.
3. No longer provides stray mouse-button releases to windows (used to
   make xmeter crash sometimes.
4. Fixed a problem which resulted where moving the mouse fast
at the end of a window move would cause the window to show
   up in the wrong page.
