(This is a bug-fix release. If there's a RedHat user out there who
would make an RPM and replace the outdated one on RedHat's server, I'd
be grateful...)

News Peruser is a simple, X-based offline newsreader for single-user
Linux systems with dial-up access to the internet.

Features include header retrieval, true threading by references,
decoding of UUencoded, XXencoded, base64, and BinHex encoded binaries,
support for authenticating news servers, and simple mail support via
POP3 and SMTP.

Source and binary distributions available. See the file INSTALL for
compilation and running instructions.

The latest version 2.22, can be found at:

ftp://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/pub/xforms/Contrib

In the files:

peruser-2.22.source.tar.gz
peruser-2.22.binaries.tar.gz

(My last message left out the address of the ftp site. Here's what I
would like to post:)

News Peruser is a simple, X-based offline newsreader for single-user
Linux systems with dial-up access to the internet.

Release 2.17 fixes the bug that prevented users of authenticating news
servers from requesting a list of newsgroups.
