**  URGENT BUG FIX SUMMARY  **
                 ******************************

There is now available a new version (0.8.1) of the Specialix
device driver for Linux for version 2.0 kernels.

It fixes a major problem, recently uncovered in the input flow
control handling in the driver.  The bug (if observed) would have
shown itself as input characters being dropped on high speed lines,
especially dial in modems using PPP or SLIP.

If any users of the driver have experienced these or similar problems,
please contact me immediately at the email address below as I'm looking
for testers.

The fix, if proven successful (& stable) will be available from SunSITE
and the other usual mirrors in a few days, but in the meantime, please
mail me for a copy.

1. Specialix XIO drivers ??

Is there a driver for the Specialix XIO intelligent serial port card ?
The Serial FAQ says that Linux does not support any intelligent cards but
we know that there are Linux drivers for the Cyclades (sp?) card so my
copy of the FAQ must be out of date.

The local Specialix rep says no, but I am hoping that someone out there
can prove him wrong.
