I am running CCI's unix v 3.11.02. I am trying to figure out what
the MAXPROC tunable parameter does. I have read their systems
administration guide on "Configuring the System", but I still get the
feeling that I am being lied to (I never heard of being able to limit
the number of concurrent processes a user could run before. Is this common?)

You must be new to UNIX, this has been common for as long as I can
remember. Don't be so paranoid, they really aren't out to get you. :-)

I'm sure you'll find alot more tuneable params. you didn't expect to see.

Isn't working at the SYSTEM level fun ... you get to learn all sorts of new
things.
