Uhm, I hate to hammer, but is there no one with enlightenment installed?
If you want to help me on this, please check my message above.

Sorry for insisting, but the screenshots just look awsome ;)

Enlightenment again

ftp: prophet.dodds.net, user 'rpm', pass = email addy.

I just built / installed / run the latest gtk+, imlib, e, gimp,
etc. (Gimp 1.1 actually works again! Yay! :-)  It's my own machine, on
which I do heavy development, so it's likely to lock up or get rebooted
every now & then, but if I'm not working on kernel code it'll be up &
responsive.

Note that all the 'latest' stuff is out of cvs.  It wants all the
other latest stuff in order to run.

Also, the latest enlightenment Really Wants Esound to start.  Why?
Because it links in libesd.so.0, so the kernel won't start the binary if
you don't have it.  I don't have any recent rpms of esound in there, but
if you want I can archive my current tree and toss it in there somewhere
(precompiled? just source? <shrug>).  Though I'd reccommend just grabbing
the latest from cvs.

Yep; vanilla rh5.1 with upgrade patches. I dl/ed the RPMS I needed (which
are listed at the enlightenment sight; libjpeg & libgimp type things)
from rufus.w3.org & put it together without any problems. FWIIW I used the
rpms compiled by the enlightenment team. Took only a few minutes. Couldn't
find an RPM for eterm though (which is mostly what makes it look so good),
and it wouldn't compile.

1. Enlightenment (again)

Ok, i have a slakware system and enlightenment never wants to compile,
and i've tried the rpm versions and they just die, so i was wondering if
anyone knows where i can get a *statically linked* version of
enlightenment.

Thank you.
