Alpha 2.1.109?

Alpha 2.1.109?

Post by Adam C. Powell, I » Sat, 18 Jul 1998 04:00:00

When trying to build 2.1.109, I get undefined symbols in
arch/alpha/kernel/alpha_ksyms.c :

make[1]: Entering directory
`/usr/local/src/linux-2.1.108/arch/alpha/kernel'

alpha_ksyms.c:90: initializer element for `__ksymtab___memsetw.value' is

make[1]: *** [alpha_ksyms.o] Error 1

I grepped throughout the distribution tree and couldn't find these
symbols anywhere else.  I commented out the two offending lines, and now
it can't build vmlinux because of undefined references to memsetw and
memsetw_io (in drivers/char/char.a and drivers/video/video.a).

Any ideas?  Successes?

1. Badness in softirq.c 109, possible fix

Hello.

Got badness in local_bh_enable because Im still in irq_disabled.
This is caused by local_irq_save() in do_tty_hangup (drivers/char/tty_io.c)
He calls local_irq_save(flags) and then goes to flush_buffer and down
to local_bh_enable.
Do we really need local_irq_save/restore in do_tty_hangup() line 447 ?
Its not safe.
Thanks
