I'm running a UP2000+ with dual CPU's. I have RedHat 6.2 installed with
kernel 2.2.19.

After boot, anwhere between 1-20 minutes, the machines just freezes. no
mouse, no keryboard, no crash, no error messages, Whether I was in init 3
or 5.

This past time around I was fortunate to get an error message, but I'm not
sure what it means.

rtc.c: 136 spinlock stuck in swapper at fffffc00004544cc(0) owner swapper at ...... time.c:i 460

Does anybody have any idea what's going on? I know it has to do with real
time clock, but other than that, I'm unsure.

Try rebuilding the kernel without rtc... or go to the 2.4.* kernels which
have most all the smp spinlocks fixed. post your message in the
linux-kernel list. looks like what's happening is rtc stuck waiting to be
released by time. eventually the entire system hangs waiting for the
resource to be freed.
