1. Still no telnet to rhat 7.1 box

# default: on

# description: The telnet server serves telnet sessions; it uses \

#

unencrypted username/password pairs for authentication.

service telnet

{

disable = no

flags = REUSE

socket_type = stream

wait = no

user = root

server = /usr/sbin/in.telnetd

log_on_failure += USERID

Someone else suggested doing a couple  of _l's on ipchains  and iptables

Am confused 'cause I am not running a firewall. This is a plain -vanilla
install of

Rhat 7.1

Perhaps I should uninstall and reinstall the rpm's?

Any suggestions anyone?

Thx much!!
