How do I setup kerberosV on OpenBSD?

How do I setup kerberosV on OpenBSD?

Post by to » Fri, 21 Jun 2002 04:36:22

I have just recently tried to get Kerberos working with OpenBSD, but I
am having problems.  It seems that all the documents I can find for
kerberos on OpenBSD are for kerberosIV, Using those same steps for
setting up kerberosV doesn't work and I have read all relevant
material I could find from http://openbsd.org/faq/faq10.html#Kerberos
and
"info heimdal"
Can someone please show me where or assist me on how I can setup
KerberosV with OpenBSD 3.1?
SO far, I did:
kadmin -l
init MY.REALM
add me
Then I start kdc with:
/usr/libexec/kdc -c=/etc/kerberosV/krb5.conf &
then:
kinit
after I enter my password, I get the error:
kinit: Can't send request (send_to_kdc)
kinit: krb5_get_init_creds: unable to reach any KDC in realm
MY.REALMTHanks for your time

Sorry, does anyone have any ideas for this?  THanks.

1. KerberosV under OpenBSD 3.0

Can someone explain this ?

kadmin> privileges
change-password, list, delete, modify, add, get

That is normal, of course. Then after having created everything I need,
I added a root/admin principal and with an acl like this :

... when I try this ==>

kadmin> privileges

none

How can I configure this to have admin ('x' or '*' or "admcil")
privileges ?
