i have a proxy
at start and under X.
i must
setenv ftp_proxy ftp://xxx.xxx.xx.xx:yy.yy/
setenv http_proxy http://xxx.xxx.xx:yy.yy/
i try to put it in .profile
!!
where i could put it ? rc.conf , rc.local
and i don't want to always set it by hand!

Put the following lines in your ~/.profile:

export ftp_proxy="ftp://blah"
export http_proxy="http://blah"
