Install 3.0 on DEC 3000/300

I'm trying to install 3.0 on my DEC 3000/300LX but failed before I even
started...
I tried to boot with both floppy30.fs and floppyB30.fs copied to rsd0c
but both fails with:

Support for system type 7 is not present in this kernel.
Please build a kernel with "options DEC_3000_300" and reboot.

Is there an image with a kernel for this box?

I also tried NetBSD but got pretty upset when the installation program
calculated my disklabel incorrect and screwed things up.
If I can't get OpenBSD working I will have to install NetBSD by hand and
that seems boring...

I had similar problems with a DEC 3000/600.  I was unable to boot from
any available image and I couldn't get the network boot to work either.

So I built NetBSD on it, copied the bsd.rd kernel to the home directory,
and booted that kernel using the option to boot an altnerative kernel.

   >>> BOOT -Fi "bsd.rd"

This worked, even though the bsd.rd kernel is OpenBSD and the boot blocks
were NetBSD.

However, I then ran into another problem.  OpenBSD on the Alpha panics when
I bring up the Ethernet interface with "ifconfig le0".

I have not discovered how to overcome this problem.

I was able to build OpenBSD copying the system in via NFS (rather than
FTP),
and I can boot to single user, but it crashes when I start the network.

You guys have Alphas.  I don't like you, and neither does my Packard Bell
Multimedia 5000 or whatever it is...
