screen resolution to change dinamically

Post by Rober » Fri, 28 Mar 2003 01:32:01

Hi. I am running Red Hat 7.3 with the KDE desktop. My original screen
resolution setting is 1280 x 768.
I would like to change the screen resolution dinamically and so I
added the modes to the Display
subsection of my Screen section (XF86Config-4)

Section "Screen"
        Identifier   "Screen0"
        Device       "S3 Savage4"
        Monitor      "Monitor0"
        DefaultDepth    24

        Subsection "Display"
                Depth       24
                Modes       "1024x768" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
        EndSubsection

Then I tried pressing Ctrl+Alt++ and I can change it to 800 x 600 and
640 x 480 BUT the screen doesn't resize correctly. I have to move the
mouse to the screen edges to pan left/right and up/down to visualize
the entire desktop.
I have no idea why this is , Is there something I need to do so this
works correctly does anyone know?
Any help with this would be most appreciated.
Thanks and ciao!
