Does gaim as shipped with Redhat v7.3 work with Apple's iChat?

I am running gaim from Redhat v7.3 and a friend has MacOS X 10.2 with
the new iChat program.  Does gaim and iChat work together?  When my
friend installed 10.2 and ran the iChat program, a dialog box said
something to the effect of that any Windows users of AIM would have
to upgrade to the very latest version of AIM in order to work with
iChat.  Any info or pointers appreciated.

I don't know, but let your friend find out...he has the Mac...;>  But
seriously, I've found Gaim to work very well, except for font support
(WYSIWYG) and the inability to transfer files.

1. Real reason why RedHat won't ship Qt

.......

Sorry RedHat, but you will lose me as a customer if you
start distributing QT on your "official" CDROMs. Please
don't.

If he doesn't want to reply to your *private* inquiries,
it is his business. On the other hand, it is highly unpolite
of you (and against Netiquette rules as well) to post
private messages on a public forum and if I were you, I'd
issue a cancel on the message and apologize.
