Configuring Evolution for Exchange mail

Configuring Evolution for Exchange mail

Post by R. P » Tue, 24 Jun 2003 16:31:20

One reason I was eager to get RH 9 was the Evolution mail client it
comes with.  It supposedly works with Exchange servers.  Well, I can't
fugure out how to make that happen. I would like to be able to get to my
work place Exchange server from home via vsClient VPN. I have a
broadband cable connection to the Internet. This is simple to do with
Windows Outlook, but I am quite confused about doing this from Linux
with Evolution. It seems to need some "Exchange connector" which I don't
know how it fits into the whole scheme of things because Outlook does
not need such a separate piece.

I can connect to my work place Intranet through vsClient fine, but I
can't get to my mail box on the company's Exchange server.  Does anybody
know of a concise description of steps I need to go through  to
accomplish it?

Thanks,
Rudy

1. Open source MS Exchange-equivalent for Linux/Evolution...

Hi!

I'm trying to find a free and open source equivalent or alternative to
MS Exchange. All clients are running the latest version of Novell
Evolution. I need the ability to manage e-mail, calendars, tasks, and
contacts.

The ability to schedule group meetings would be a bonus.

I've been looking at opengroupware, but it doesn't seem to support the
latest version of Evolution as a client - and this is a must for me.

Thanks in advance!
Cyp.
