Need help with burning Linux CD's on a PC using Easy CD Creator 5

The Subject line pretty much says it all.

I downloaded the .iso files from a German server to my PC and the file
sizes all match up with what the site says they should be.  The hard
disk in the PC has been 'scandisk'd and 'speeddisk'd before and after
the download with no errors reported.  I believe the files to be error
free.  I'm using an HP CD Writer+ 9700k to burn the TDK discs.  I've
been using these discs for months for backups with no problems ever.

I'm using Easy CD Creator 5 to burn my RedHat LINUX 8.0 CD's and I keep
getting errors and it stops.  I'm using 700 MB disks, so there should be
plenty of space for the iso9660 information.  The error message is no
help.  It just says "unexpected error" when I try to write the first
'psyche' disk information to the CD.

A few months ago, somebody posted a very nice HOW-TO using Easy CD
Creator 5, but I can't find it anymore on my news server.  I've looked
all over the net and on the ROXIO website, but still found nothing that
would help.  I'm not sure I have the right options set on the burn
project or I'm not using the right procedure.  I have a laptop that I
can verify the CD's using MD5SUM (RH LINUX 7.1).  These disks are going
to be used to setup a * system with 8.0.  Any and all help is
sincerely appreciated.

A howto for iso's is real simple.

1) Download iso's.
2) MD5SUM the iso's to ensure they are correct (if you're lazy like
me, just check for exact same file size - MD5SUM takes so long to run,
and I'm impatient.
3) Double click on the iso file (on the PC with easy cd/Roxio) (TAKE
ALL DEFAULTS!)
4) Watch burn.

Need help with burning Linux CD's on a PC using Easy CD Creator 5

One tip that may help you is to boot the Redhat 8.0 CD1 on any
computer you have.  It will automatically ask you if you want to
perform an integrity check on the CD, nice new feature they added.  My
guess is something is corrupt in your .iso image.  The test will
return a simple PASS or FAIL.

Good Luck
Dave

MANY thanks to DarkMatter and M H Bell!!

I read the HOW-TO that M H referred to and slowed my write speed as
DarkMatter suggested and that procedure worked flawlessly!!  The HOW-TO
seemed to be geared more to EZ CD Creator 3.5 rather than 5.0, but it
was close enough to be a huge help!  That took care of the options that
I needed and slowing the write speed resolved the buffer issue.  I was
not aware that big files blasted buffers that bad.  I've used EZ CD for
regular file backup and always used 16x write speed with no problems or
errors on the disc.  Thanks, again, gentlemen!!  And HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

1. Burning CD for Solaris with Nero \ Easy CD creator

Hi

I'm using Nero 6 & Easy CD creator 5 and I need to burn a cd that will
be read by Windows and Solaris
Some of the files have more than 8 characters in their name and it's
case sensitive.

Anyway to do this ?
So when I read the cd on Windows \ Solaris files name will be case
sensitive, and it won't cut the files names in the middle
( I don't want to create .iso file !!! )
