Hi;
I just went to what I thought was the be all, end all of computer
stores......microcenter in *ia.
I went their hoping to get an internal modem that will deal with both
windows 98 and Red Hat 7.1.
The sales help were kids who didn't even pronounce linux clearly.
They had a total of about 5 differnt modems, all for windows, all over
priced.
I'm going to try best buy this weekend, but if they are equally bad I
will order a modem over the internet.
Can anyone recommend an internal modem that will work well with both
Red Hat 7.1 and Windows 98. I don't want to spend more then $40
unless there is a compelling reason.
Also can anyone recommend a cheap, but good video card suitable for
both operating systems and made by a company that will stick around
for a few years?
Red Hat 7.1 had no problem recognizing and finding a driver for my old
video card that gateway bought from a long defunct company. However,
I have not been able to get the old windows drivers working correctly
after I wiped my hard drive. I have a few more tricks to try but if
they don't pan out I'm thinking I might be better off buying a new
video card
