802.11b (WiFi) honey pot - anybody set one up ?

Post by -J- » Thu, 16 May 2002 17:38:07

Looking to see if anybody has setup a Mandrake 8.2 802.11b honeypot yet ..

I'm thinking about setting one up.  I know that getting a Prism based card
to work properly is a pain in the rear ..  (I've done it to get Kismet
running)

Any tips or pointers are welcomed !!

TTYS !

Not really, I got the linksys WMP11 (Prism 2) working as a remote
wireless hub.  Using Linux 2.2.19 on Pentium 166s, my remote hubs
relay signals from my main hub (using a sohoware access point) and IP
masq into local IPs.  I am planning on installing 32 hubs, each with
16777216 (2^24) local IPs.

1. 802.11b (WiFi) AirSnort in Linux

Hi!

I've got a US Robotics 11mbps 802.11b PC Card, and I'm running Kernel
2.4.5 (distro = Slackware 8.0).  I've got the PCMCIA package installed
as well as wlan package.  When I run 'dopromisc.sh' to enable
promiscuous mode on the card, the light on the card goes solid, no
blinking.  Is this normal?  And airsnort 'capture -c file.txt' just
displays timeouts...Is that just because there's no wifi network
around?
