real video and ipchains

Post by fuchs gerhar » Fri, 08 Dec 2000 04:00:00

hi!

we are behind a ipchains firewall. and one of our new problems to solve
is the following:

realplayer works on my maschine - but for me all ports are open. i
configured realplayer to use only http traffic and to use our proxy.

on my maschine the streaming works.

on the other maschines the realplayer cannt connect to the streaming
target. the configuration of the real player ist the same. the other
clients can only use port 3128.

question: how should i configure the firewall (or realplayer) , so that
normal clients can use the streaming??

I just happen to be listening to 50's rock on Netradio.com as I sit
here typing, so I think I can help.  Set RealPlayer to use UDP and use
port range 7070..7071.  Open ports 7070:7071 inbound.

1. Real Video & ipchains

Hello, I have a RedHat 6.0 firewall running ipchains, and NAT. We want
to serve Real Video from behind the firewall, but Real claims that it is
impossible with this configuration. I have a hard time believing that,
but I cannot figure it out. If anyone could give me some input, I'd
really appreciate it. Thanks.
