How do I insert a picture into a letter?

I'm trying to put a PostScript picture into a letter as a letter head.  I'm
not having any good luck.  Can anyone help?

TIA.

If you're using letter.cls you have my deepest sympathy as it is
(IMHO) fatally crippled by its vertical centering. Either use
something comparable like the Koma-script letter, or disable the
vertical centering by

\makeatletter

\makeatother

(Can someone please make this a FAQ?)

Then copy and paste the definition of \opening from letter.cls
into your own file and redefine it to put the graphic where you
want: here's a guess (untested)

   \thispagestyle{firstpage}%

   \else  % home address
     \thispagestyle{empty}%
\leavevmode\vbox to0pt{\hbox %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
      to0pt{\includegraphics{foo.eps}\hss}}%%%%%%%%

       \fromaddress \\*[2\parskip]%

   \fi
   \vspace{2\parskip}%
   {\raggedright \toname \\ \toaddress \par}%
   \vspace{2\parskip}%
   #1\par\nobreak}
