Auctex with ntemacs

Auctex with ntemacs

Post by Ravi Chel » Sat, 19 Oct 1996 04:00:00

I have installed Auctex 9.5a with ntemacs (emacs-19.34) under Windows 95.
The auctex functions run fine, except that when I try to run a command like
Latex, View, etc, I get an error:

Spawning child process: invalid argument

Any help in figuring out the problem will be appreciated.

Sounds like you need to get a new version of ntemacs. The latest version
supports subprocesses under Win95 (earlier versions didn't).

See

ftp://ftp.cs.washington.edu/pub/ntemacs/

for the latest.

Auctex with ntemacs

Post by Peter Dav » Fri, 01 Nov 1996 04:00:00

I've just installed emacs 19.34 and MikTeX on my Win95 system.  I'd
like to use AucTeX.  Can anyone tell me where to get it and/or how to
install it?  I've never used it before.

Thanks.

1. 4Spell, auctex and ntemacs

Since I use Miktex under NT, it seems like 4spell might be
more useful to me than some of the win32 ispell3 or 4
ports, none of which seem completely satisfactory (for NT,
maybe this is in their favor!).

Anyway, when I installed 4spell, I wondered if there were
auctex/emacs instructions available. In particular, what I
do with ispell{3,4}.elc stuff, and is there anything odd in
putting the speller in the auctex list of executibles?

Thanks in advance
