## single-spacing within bib. entries, double between them?

### single-spacing within bib. entries, double between them?

hello,
i am using latex2e to produce a thesis that is double
spaced. but the powers that be have imposed the strange
requirement that in the bibliography, the information
pertaining to a single entry should be single spaced,
leaving a double space between entries. currently the
entire thesis is double spaced, so what is the
recommended way to get single spacing in the bibliography
entries?

my thesis used to look like:
\documentclass[oneside,11pt]{cuthesis}
\begin{document}
\include{phd_prelim}
\include{chap1}
\include{chap2}
\include{chap3}
\bibliographystyle{jas}
\bibliography{/home/zender/tex/bib}
\appendix
\input{app1}
\input{app2}
\end{document}

should i just change this to

...
\setlength{\baselineskip}{11pt}
\bibliography{/home/zender/tex/bib}
\setlength{\baselineskip}{whatever \baselineskip used to be}
...

this works, but seems rather crude, and i am hoping for a more elegant
solution. (how do i change \baselineskip back to what it used to be?)
(how can i make this generic so it scales the singlespacing according
to whether 10pt,11pt, or 12pt is given to the documentclass option?)

thanks,
charlie
