Hi all,
I have just installed the hvmaths package from MicroPress and the related
dtx and ins packages from CTAN. Running*works fine on a sample file.
Viewing with xdvi, however, gives me an error. Obviously some pfb font
files are not found:
...
mktexpk: Running gsftopk hvrm10ex 300
gsftopk(k) version 1.17
Cannot find font file hvrm10ex.pfb
grep: hvrm10ex.log: No such file or directory
mktexpk: `gsftopk hvrm10ex 300' failed to make hvrm10ex.300pk.
xdvi.bin: can't find font hvrm10ex; using cmr10 instead at 300 dpi.
...
and so on. hvrm10ex.pfb is not contained in the hvmaths package and it
doesn't seem to exist anywhere else either. The problem is caused by the
hvfonts.map file. It says:
hvsy10 HVMathSy <hvsy10.pfb
hvbsy10 HVMathSy-Bold <hvbsy10.pfb
hvex10 HVMathEx <hvex10.pfb
hvexb10 HVMathEx-Bold <hvexb10.pfb
hvmi10 HVMath-Italic <hvmi10.pfb
hvmib10 HVMath-BoldItalic <hvmib10.pfb
hvrm10ex HVTextEx <hvrm10ex.pfb
hvro10ex HVTextEx-Oblique <hvro10ex.pfb
hvrb10ex HVTextEx-Bold <hvrb10ex.pfb
hvbo10ex HVTextEx-BoldOblique <hvbo10ex.pfb
...
This dazzles me. How can hvfonts.map refer to non-existent files?
Could anybody else install hvmaths? Please let me know.
I am running TeTex TeX (Web2C 7.3.1) 3.14159,
kpathsea version 3.3.1, on a Linux box (SuSE 6.3 with upgrades).
Thanks in advance,
Michael
