FAX problems with efax0.6a

Post by Amy Morriss » Fri, 22 Jul 1994 06:39:16

I am trying to send fax's with a ViVa 14.4i/FAX modem. Using efax v 0.6a
which I downloaded from sunsite. I am running Linux 1.0.8. (Posix) on a
386 with 4Mg of ram...

The modem is "compatible with group 3, EIA class 1 and class 2 fax
devices."

I sent a fax of a text file and a PostScript file generated by dvips
to a number of other fax machines, and all copies were garbled. By
garbled I mean it looks like it skipped many lines. The transcript is
included below.

Has anyone had similar experiences with efax on linux? Is there a
better faxing program for linux?

Thanks in advance,
