Limiting User Login Times?

Post by Andrew Sillik » Thu, 19 Jan 1995 02:06:28

Does anyone know of a package available that I can use to limit user login
times on the system, both via modem and by telnet? It would be good to be
able to exclude certain groups from this login quota.

Any help would be appreciated, abuses on the system are growing.

Cheers,

Yeah, check out idled, which logs out idle users, but which can also be used
to set a time limit for the user. I think you'll find it at
sunsite.unc.edu:/pub/Linux/system/Admin

I've written a program that enforces two-hour time limits under certain
conditions.  If you're familiar with C, it should be fairly easy to modify it
to do what you want.

Available by anonymous ftp from ftp.netis.com in /pub/linux, file timeuser.c.

Hope it helps ...
