/etc/login.defs not longer supported ???

/etc/login.defs not longer supported ???

I've installed Slackware 1.2.0 over my 0.99pl13 with formatting my harddisc
all will work now but i can't find /etc/login.defs will this file not longer
be supported? Is there something like a HOWTO with all possible entries for
the login.defs ?

If I'm not mistaken, /etc/login.defs is peculiar to the shadow package
which was dropped from Slackware because of arguments over copyright.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.  I really don't know what login
is currently used in Slackware.

i can set the min passwd len to n in the /etc/login.defs file, but
which one of these 'pam' modules will help me ensure that at least 2
bytes are 0-9 and at least one byte contains a non alphanumeric like
