How about /etc/porttime and enabling this from /etc/login.defs ? *grin*
# Enable checking of time restrictions specified in /etc/porttime.
This one allows only me to login into my modem, root from the 9 to 11th
console, the rest on any console/line (except ttyS3) anytime. See the manual
page for porttime (section 4).
