Gnome app fonts under KDE

Gnome app fonts under KDE

Post by Mike Ballar » Wed, 04 Jun 2003 15:41:31

Hi -

Some (all?) Gnome apps I run under KDE (red-carpet, nautilus, etc.) have
menu and dialog fonts that are much larger than all the fonts I've set
under KDE.  How do I/can I control that (Gnome app fonts under KDE)?

Have you tried setting them in the GNOME control centre? If this doesn't
work you could try using either QtCurve of Geramik themes (both
available on kde-look.org). These will sync fonts and colours between
KDE and GTK/GNOME apps.

1. KDE fonts and colors on non-KDE apps

I understand that KDE 1.1 has this feature where it applies its color
scheme and fonts to non-KDE applications as well. I have "Apply fonts
and colors to non-KDE apps", and see this effect on a number of
applications. I wonder if anyone could enlighten me as to how KDE
selects which app to "influence" in this manner. Some applications do
not seem to be affected, such as Netscape (4.08, 4.5), licq and
Applixware 4.4.1. I saw some Usenet complaints about this feature's
effect on Netscape, so I expected to see this happen on my system. Also,
why wouldn't licq (based on Qt) be affected?
