hi everyone,
this seems like a pretty dead ng, but anyway...  I got looplinux of my
system in a dual boot setup with windoze 98SE, and when I try to start KDE
using  #startkde, it get the following errors:
libXext.so.6 - cannot open shared object file - no such file or directory
libtiff.so.6  "    "    "        "        "        "        "        "
"        "        "
there's some stuff before them but I didn't write them down.  This error
also applys 6 times, 3 for each file/object on different things..  any
help??  Obvisouly a missing file, but where to get it/whats it for/what
package it's in...

OBJECTION. This ng is alive, well and kicking!

libXext is from XFree86-libs. libtiff is from libtiff. I use
RH6.2 so YMMV. Grab the pkgs and install them.

yes, startx also has problems, I didn't write them down, but each error ends
with something like: 'cannot connect to X Server'

Yes, I apologize.  For some reason my news reader only downloaded 2 messages
when I posted last night so I just got the impression that it was dead, but
now I have 500+..  hehe

Looks like you didn't configure X, take a look at your manual on how
to do this. Or the www.xfree86.org website
A howto will probably be of help if the former 2 didn't help
use www.google.com and type "HOWTO linux X"
