OT: auto-hide code of dock bar

Post by Timo Nentwi » Mon, 12 Aug 2002 03:04:55

I'm looking for the snippet of code executed in order to gorgeously slide out
the dock bar (usually at the bottom) to the left/right.

I don't want to d/l the entire KDE source and seek for that tiny snippet, I'd be
very glad if anybody already familiar with the KDE sources to point me to the
corresponding code or post it here.

thx a lot! :-)

Dunno, I'm not a programmer, though I like to compile CVS for fun.

Why not checkout kdebase/kicker from CVS and look?
It would only be about 3M in size.
But then I guess someone telling you which source file it is in would be
even better . . .

all the best,

I guess the code would be in kdebase/kicker. You can browse the source by
going to webcvs.kde.org

1. fvwm95 and taskbar auto-hide

Hi!

I have been using fvwm95 for a while, and I really like it. I decided
to use the auto-hide feature of the FvwmTaskBar module, and it
auto-hides just fine, but never reveals itself unless I manually drag
it out. This doesn't seem to be a known problem, since the man pages
and the READMEs say that it is supposed to reveal itself.

I played with the code a little, and after some experiments, realized
that the TaskBar is never getting the Enternotify events. I am not
quite sure why - but seems like the "hidden" taskbar is getting
really hidden from fvwm's point of view. I can see the edge of it with
a BorderWidth 4, and the mouse changes shape, but I just don't get an
enternotify. This is with Mousefocus, Clicktofocus as well as
sloppyfocus (this is the one that I normally use) and with or without
FvwmAuto.

Can someone help me fix this problem? I tried to mail to David Barth,
but the messages kept bouncing.

Thanks!
Jit.
