KDE Keybindings for non-KDE apps

I'm using Forte for Java ide to do some java programming, and the
keybindings for that application don't work at all. They worked in gnome, but
not in KDE 2.2.2 on redhat linux 7.2.
Any suggestions as to how I can get them back?
