I found the following to line in ~/.kde/share/configkwmrc

[Gimmick]
GimmickMode=off

I am just wondering what GimmickMode is? Sounds like a cool stuff but
which one?

Adds a picture on top of the active window.

it's in German, but just the values to put in the config files
are in English, and you can also download nice gimmicks from there ;-)
