AND I top-posted, shame on me.
I also forgot to mention, though you might know, that you can use the
"patch" command with those diffs I posted to make the "patched" version
of esr's script. The syntax escapes me but it's one of two ways, so you
can trial-and-error it, with likely only one error maximum.
