Strange error messages for all my KDE apps (KDE 2)

Post by Pierre-Philippe Ravie » Thu, 07 Dec 2000 04:00:00

I have u[graded my system from Mandrake 7.1 to 7.2, therefore upgrading
fom Kde 1 to KDE 2.
KDE starts up and displays the task bar, as well as desktop icons.
However, I can't use any of the KDE apps. IT works for Gnome and other
X apps, but not for KDE ones.

When I start kword I obtain :
koffice (lib kofficecore): WARNING: Office/KWord.kdelnk: no X-KDE-
NativeMimeType entry!
koffice (lib kofficecore): ERROR: Couldn't find the native MimeType in
kword's desktop file. Check your installation !

For konqueror I receive this SIGSEV stacktrace :

And the output on the terminal says :

Kpaint doesn't crash but complains weird things :

Can you help me please ?

1. ./configure for KDE apps fails on KDE

I am trying to compile some KDE apps on my box. When I run the configure
script I get to

checking for kde libraries installed...

and get a failure, something that says that my system fails at linking a
small KDE application. I have all of the KDE rpm's for my computer
installed, and I have Qt 2.02 installed and configured on my computer.
What else could it be?

Thanks
