#1) the new SuSE is great... never seen such an easy
linux-installation!! it was like a 6 or 7 click type
of installation... and it didnt have any problems with
my hardware, although im running it on a laptop...

#2) but now to my problem: i had to manually install
the sound-card drivers (for the ESS1869) (not really
manually... i used yast2, but i had to fill all the
adresses and stuff in) this works fine!! when i hit
"test sound" i hear a great piece of some kind of
i dont get kde to use it though... it did work for
some kind of system-beep, but thats it... what can i
do?? i tried all different settings, and didnt find no
information on the net about this problem!!

1. KDE 3.0 (Suse 8.0) HANGING!

I can reproduce such a situation.

I open a home console and issue the following commands

su -
<root password>
cd /
find . -exec grep "LD_LIBRARY_PATH" '{}' \; -print

After this the mouse will still work but the keyboard will be dead and it is
for exmple not possible to use Mozilla.

Fortunately you can click on the logout button.
