I installed all the Mandrake-enabled RPMs of 2.2 beta 1, and my icons all
refuse to exist. They won't appear on tool bars, on the kpanel, on the
konqueror file views, or anything.
kdeartwork-2.2-0.beta1.1mdk.i586.rpm contains almost nothing, and konqueror
'stderr's things like ""konqueror: WARNING: Pixmap not found for mimetype
application/x-rpm at startup time.
E-searches for these topics fail due to the large number of unrelated
"mimetype", "icon" and "missing" hits available.
Further, Netscape still renders artistic files such as PNG format
adequately despite my 256 colors, but kview & konqueror behave as if I only
had 16, and they dither everything. They used to share the color palette
better than this. Could the two problems be related?
