KDE-1.1.1 BUG: KCharset: Wrong charset

KDE-1.1.1 BUG: KCharset: Wrong charset

Post by Johannes Beh » Wed, 05 May 1999 04:00:00

Hi,

I compiled KDE-1.1.1 on my Solaris7.0/egcs1.1.2 box (was a happy
KDE-1.0 user befor).

I compiled all the source packages without any problem and
anything seems to work fine (just kab and korganizer core dumps at
startup)

but:

All the apps print right after starting the following line
2 or more times on cout:

KCharset: Wrong charset

any Idea
  Johannes

-----------------------------------------------------------------
float o=0.075,h=1.5,T,r,O,l,I;int _,L=80,s=3200;main(){for(;s%L||
(h-=o,T= -2),s;4 -(r=O*O)<(l=I*I)|++ _==L&&write(1,(--s%L?_<L?--_
%6:6:7)+"World! \n",1)&&(O=I=l=_=r=0,T+=o /2))O=I*2*O+h,I=l+T-r;}

Mine does that as well. I have no idea why, but I'm not complaining,
everything seems to work ok :)

Exactly the same for me too!

Ive gone round and round the houses trying to work this one out.

If I do a Crl-Alt + F1 I get the "Kcharset: Wrong Charset!"
message repeated over and over but if I do a Ctr-Alt + F2 I just
get the root prompt as normal.

Ive reinstalled Linux and KDE a couple of times and both times
this happened straight away without touching any of the settings
at all.

There is an "experimental" Xterm with KDE perhaps this has
something to do with it.

I also remember charsets as having something to do with Xserver
tests or something, now what was it now...

Bill.
